I am curios when Polycom plans to announce an expansion module for the IP 650 - Currently, the 650 does support the use of the 601 sidecar however, if you have added one to the mix you will quickly notice a few problems with the picture.
First off, the Polycom IP 650 has a different look and feel than the 601... The 601 yet still extremely stylish has a grayish or what one might call a charcoal finish/color. The Polycom IP 650 on the other hand is black and silver. These are the obvious differences that one might only pick up on when looking at pictures of the phones.
Here is where it gets interesting. The Polycom IP 601 expansion module was obviously developed for the 601 right? Now we all know that the module itself will work on the 650 but without the benefit of a back lit display.
From what I can tell there are two features that keep Polycom's current attendant console from being ready for use with the new HD line of phone. one color, two-the lack of a backlit display.
When? - FYI- WE are ready :)
