Open Source VoIP - Is it there?

Despite drawbacks, open source IVRs, PBXs and VoIP gateways present all sorts of excellent cost savings opportunities -- on toll, trunking, hardware, management and more. It is these savings opportunities that will continue to drive more IP telephony experimentation and adoption -- but will they drive open source and IP telephony any closer together?
